Hi, I’m Meghan. I’m a Scorpio and an Instagram-aholic. I love red lipstick and giant breed dogs. I’m a yoga practitioner with a pistol permit. I’m also a mutant of the BRCA2 variety and in September 2014, I had a bilateral mastectomy.
My surgery has now become a defining part of who I am, but I won’t let it define me. I lived a whole quarter century of experiences that are just as important to me as this: I went to college and I made amazing friends who still play very important roles in my life. I went abroad for two years and visited the majority of Western Europe. I took an insane roadtrip through France, stood on Omaha Beach as the sun came up over Normandy, drank wine and beached in Nice, stood in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, took home a piece of the Berlin Wall and drank in the rain at Oktoberfest. I learned from incredible professors and worked on the front lines in the European Parliament. I got to hang out in the diplomat box at President Obama’s town hall in Strasbourg.
I have flown many miles, had my phones with different country codes, and I look back on every experience affectionately. I used to think I knew what I wanted to do with my life, but that was before this curve ball came along and now I’m just not so sure.
